Śpiew syreny (Mermaid’s song)

Śpiew syreny (Mermaid’s song)

The film has been made to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary and the 70th anniversary of the death of the symbol of Warsaw Krystyna Krahelska who just before World War II posed to the monument of the Warsaw mermaid. The film makers used archival footage of a story told by Christine Krahelska’s fiance – aviator Stanisław Wujastyk and includes interviews with her deceased girlfriends. Also shown in the film are memorabilia left by Krahelska who perished during the Warsaw Uprising – manuscripts, poems, music sheets, letters and even clothing from private collections.
